How it works
From unanswered questions to a working compliance program
Five steps. No consultant engagement letter, no 90-page framework you'll never read.
1. Answer questions about your business
The ComplianceAnvil Intake asks about your industry, workforce, data, technology, AI use, and goals. Every question explains why it matters, and "I don't know" is always an acceptable answer — an unknown is treated as a gap to investigate, not a blocker. You can save and resume at any point.
2. Get a transparent compliance score
Your answers run through a published, weighted scoring model. Each control has a defined weight, an answer-to-score mapping, a severity, and a recommended action. The same answers always produce the same score, and you can see exactly which answer moved which category.
Your score is an internal readiness indicator. It is not a certification, an audit result, or a legal determination.
3. Receive a prioritized action plan
Findings are sorted by severity and grouped into 30-, 60-, and 90-day horizons, with quick wins called out separately. Most small businesses can close several critical items in a single afternoon.
4. Generate personalized policies
Your organization details and assessment answers feed controlled, versioned templates. Conditional clauses turn on based on your real situation — remote work, BYOD, card handling, government contracts, AI use. Documents carry a version, an owner, an approval block, and a review date. You review, edit, approve, and download them.
AI may help personalize language, but required clauses, structure, and disclaimers come from our controlled templates. AI never invents legal requirements.
5. Keep it current
Compliance is not a document you file once. Mission Control tracks policy approvals, training completion, evidence expiration, vendor reviews, upcoming review dates, and score changes over time, and always shows one clear next action.
What this does not replace
ComplianceAnvil does not replace an attorney, an accountant, a licensed insurance advisor, a forensic investigator, or a formal audit. Where content is state-specific or industry-regulated, we mark it for qualified professional review.
